Guys, need ur valuable input on possibly my last phone upgrade in the next couple of years.. Budget is a maximum of 22k. The main requirement was touch + Qwerty.. So I've narrowed my options down to the N97 Mini(Nokia N97 mini - Full phone specifications) and the Samsung B7610 Omnia Pro(Samsung B7610 OmniaPRO - Full phone specifications), more inclined towards the Omnia Pro. Should I be looking at some more options? Increase in budget is absolutely ruled out!

TIA~

the specs of the omnia pro looks gr8 on paper. the only thing is the display limitation.though it has a gr8 amoled screen its colors are limited by winmo and limited to 65k colors.here is where the n97 mini scores.. also the mini is a refreshing change over the n97.

Hi,

Both Nokia N97 and Samsung B7610 Omnia are worth of using.
Samsung B7610 is having Windows OS while Nokia N97 is having Symbian OS.
Samsung B7610 is having 135 MB RAM while Nokia N97 is having 128 Mb RAM.
Memory for both is same, i.e, 32GB
Samsung B7610 is having 5 MP camera while Nokia N97 is having 5 MP camera with Carl Zeiss lens
Both support GPS but Nokia N97 also uses Nokia maps.

Both the phones are quite smart and technically very strong and on comparing both the phones I found Nokia N97 has slightly upper hand.

By the way I am a die hard fan of Nokia phones but no doubt that Samsung has delivered some quality mobile phones.

omnia pro doesn have a 32gb inbuilt memory.it has only 2 gb inbuilt and xpandable upto 32 gb.

also omnia pro has 256 MB ram not 135 mb ram.

n97 gains in display since it can display 16 million colours unlike the omnia pro which can display only 65k colors which might affect watching videos

Hi sumatrix,

Thanks for correcting me. Well I would like to have some more updates if you can provide. HTC and ASUS are having GPS supported by SatGuide. If Omnia Pro is having GPS and which company is supporting their GPS? And can we use update of GPS maps or software from other company?

Please help.

Regards

I'm using Omnia 2 (i8000) and am deeply impressed by it. Its great VFM. However, i do miss a few features that almost all (mid to high end) nokia phones have, like a hands free with music keys, etc.And the WinMo bit does act like a b**ch at times :P. No matter which phone you chose though, u'll not be disappointed. Ovi maps is great, factor in the free nav-system while choosing.
