Getting Airtel 3g signal in Bangalore

From midnight I am getting 3g signals in Bangalore. I am on Airtel 99 rs edge plan. My icon on spica toggles from 3g to hspa+. Downlink speed is 1mbps. Uplink is 400 kbps.

Anyone else getting these speeds

Anyway now its back to EDGE again. I guess they were upgrading new software loads on the BTS and were testing it.

Wow! if you are getting 3G without paying for it, what could be nicer than this? Congratulation! I think they are on a test..hopefully rest of India should also get. I think it's time for me to shift to a 3G enable handset..
 
AFAIK every 3g service will be default activated.
Its just that you need to have the proper hardware for it.
I got reliance 3g similarly but got much better speeds mentioned in my signature .
 
My N8 is still not receiving any 3G signals. Can you send me details regarding Airtel 3G plans?
 
I have activated Airtel 3G on my N79. Speed is good. Around 150Kbps in my mobile. But costly plans as expected and no unlimited plans. It is better to switch to BSNL I think.
 
Seriously those prices are insane from airtel's side!

No 3g for me,err im in chennai,so i got to wait :@
 
3G signal is intermittant in my house in bangalore but outside I get it...the data plans for 3G is insane, 750 rupees for 2GB and after 30p/20KB that's 15 rupees per MB. what's the point in saying listen to music and stream videos when streaming video is going to cost you 100 rupees!!!
 
Yeah the pricing is ridiculous besides my network switches to EDGE too often and I guess I have to pay as per the 3G plan even if my data transfer is going to happen over EDGE at most places :(
