Getting BT Cleints like BitComet to work under Proxy Server & Firewall

Hey Guys,

We are under our institute firewall and we use our proxy server to connect to the internet.
We can connect to p2p applications like K-Lite & E-mule easily but Bit Comet do not connect even after stting the proxy settings.
Can u guys telll us how to get Bit Comet or any other Bt Client to get working in our scenario.
Waiting for help from all of u buddies out there

if you ask me..u are risking getting yourself kicked from the institute..cause if you are found downloading something illegal then thats it...you better ask the in charge whether you are allowed to use it before trying anything.

as far as the proxying goes...u can use a software called http tunnel and socks cap.

i will get back to you with the full procedure.
 
i think you need to enable port forwarding in you r server and open up few ports . all this has to be done in server. Google it.

Believe me ...u dont want to do that.........
 
Just use Azureus, one of the best BT clients out there. And also brilliant with firewall support, and yes, you definitely need to forward a port, on your personal firewall as well as the proxy.
 
Well ,in port forwarding you have to do something with the servers ,isn't it ,and for that you need authentication.And what about 'http tunnel and socks cap' it sounds interesting.

Our inti people blocked p2p (i don't know how).Nothing seems to work:mad:
 
XXX sites can be blocked by 3rd party softwares itself, that maintain a list of such sites. I don't think that and ur p2p problems are similar. And yes do what hacker is telling you, that should help.

Well here i ll get in trouble for downloading through that prgram !

but for messing with the server ill be cicked like hello ...

i connect through ISA , ftp port closed , proxifier didnt work , https works , ssl didnt work .

i have many problems , the prgram i need must support proxies , one like 10.10.10.3:80 (with password) , and if the prgram wants direct connect ? dont think will work
or if it needs to conect using one port and there is no option to change it

lot of problems, when i test a program i dont know which error was the reason of failure , too many possiblites

netpumper tried 30 connect attempt in 1min , trying lot of ports, i closed it.

i dont want server admin to wake up :ashamed:

i wish i could find a program that support a proxy on port 80 and could work on safe ports

i will try Azureus :huh:

You will get nat errors on Azureus in port 80 the standard ports on azureus are 1024 - 49151. However Azureus also allows users to choose the unassigned ports in the foll. range, 49152 - 65535. Try it, might just solve ur problems.
