Getting Xbox 360 from US-Queries

Hi,

I plan to get Xbox 360 from US this April. Here are few queries I have which you guys might have encountered-

1. What should I get to be able to plug the console in Indian electrical outlets? And how much they would cost in Delhi or Pune?

2. I plan to get it softmodded via savegame hack (Mech-Assualt,007 or Splinter Cell way) so as to avoid voiding the warranty. Has anybody done this?

3. Pro is my choice (just get a 60 gig HD to save games and firmware). How good is Arcade?

4. I have 29" CRT TV with Component input. What should I get to get component picture? Plna to get HD Monitor in a year.

^I wanted PAL too, but US only has NTSC. My TV can handle both PAL and NTSC signals, so after softmod I *could* play NTSC/U games.

Care to jog my memory on this one please? I have never heard about this modding method. AFAIK it's impossible to mod (soft mod or otherwise) the console without opening it.

You are right. The above method applies to Xbox 1 (and not Xbox 360). So to softmod, warranty would be voided and I am okay with it.
 
Yeah well I'm in the same boat as you are. I was looking for the Arcade version to hit India & then get it modded.

The only reason I am option for Pro (with 60 gig HD) is the option to install games on HD for faster/smoother performance, otherwise Arcade is all right with its price around 10k if purchased from US.
 
Yeah well I prefer an Indian console. I could easily procure PAL & Region free games. Not to mention with an Indian warranty, even if the console is modded, you have fair chance of getting it replaced. That is only if the warranty sticker is somewhat intact & the replacement people don't check it that closely. :)
 
You need a voltage step down colverter & a Xbox 360 HDAV Component Cable.
