Graphic Cards GFX card for 11k

I recently got a Core i5 and P55 mobo...and a Corsair VX 450....now i'm confused betweeen ATI 4870 or 4890, 5770 or a GTX 260 216.......Any suggesstions....??:huh:

Well...all perform similar to each other and with prices:-

HD4870 = 10k

GTX260 = 10.5k

HD 5770 = 11.4k

HD4890 = 13.2k

So, put out the HD4890 already....u get HD4870, GTX260 and HD5770.

Now HD5770 consumes as much power as a HD5770 yet performs ~ HD4870. GTX260 somewhat is also HD4870 level but mostly 1-2 fps better....

HD5770 40nm vs HD4870 and GTX260 55nm

HD5770 DX11 capable vs HD4870 DX10.1 vs GTX260 DX10

Your pick now..

If true graphic muscle power in current games is what your requirement, go for Either GTX 260/4870 1GB, or if feautres like DX 11,Eyefinty & lower power consumption go for 5770, but be carefull 5770 might get bottlenecked when all eyecandy is set to high due to 128 Bit interface.

HD 5770 = 11.4k i prefer this one for simple reason it is future proof ! though lil overpriced but i think if u can't wait then this is the best bet coz in six months u see this cards more in market then others .

look both the cards 4870 and gtx 260 216 are best available cards in terms of price/performance ratio (as comp@ddict correctly said 4890 is slightly out of ur budget so cannot comment on 4890)...........selecting a graphics card between the 2 (4870 and gtx 260 216) depends on which games do u actually want to play........there r some games which run faster on gtx 260 216 and some on 4870 but on an average the gtx 260 216 is slightly faster ( especially in games that r shader intensive) and if u r a serious overclocker then please consider the gtx 260 216 cards as it is one of the best overclocking cards around.....but frankly speaking both r excellent cards to buy an u cannot go wrong with them:)

None of them... increase your budget and get 5850 if you game above 1650X1080 or get HD5750 for around 9K

5750 doesn't makes sense at all similar performance to a 4850 but way over priced. DX 11 games will take time to hit mainstream, and I suspect the cards narrow bandwidth bus is gonna be a problem for next gen. games.

If you cant wait or increase your budget id suggest the 5770. its not too shabby even at 1920 as long as you arent a pro gamer expecting 100fps in games.

However it makes most sense to get a 5850.

Some numbers AnandTech: AMD?s Radeon HD 5770 & 5750: DirectX 11 for the Mainstream Crowd

Mate,

Agreed! it is not too shabby,But what about the price premiuem you pay for a performance which is clearly below compared to an 4870 , which offers much better performance for lower price tag and free of memory bandwidth bottle necks which 5770 clearly suffers from.5770 would only tangiable if its prices fall below the prices of 4870.

As far as directx11 is concerned definately it will take another year or so to mature by then a lot of things will change & hopefully ATI release thier next generation DX 11 Cards by then.Presently i see no value going for 5770 unless you want DirectX 11 ready barging rights or looking to save on some electricity bill.

Though i agree with your suggestion for 5850 if the OP has a budget for it.

HD5770 suffers from core power rather memory bandwidth...it's just that u havn't seen it anywhere on the net(check google..if u noe the keywords, u'll see the review which shows what is really holding the HD5770 back)....

We are seeing very early performance numbers from the 5770. I think with newer drivers its only going to get better. A year from now it would have made more sense to go with that.

Mate,

I am quite sure it is bandwidth bottlenecked as i myself used a 4770 & 4850 too,Though the 4770 performed exceptionally well when overclocked but in Games with heavy textures or when AA enabled it suffrered at higher resln when compared to 4850.

Infact that is the only cause that pushed me back from purchasing a 5770, and went ahead with my purchase of 4870 1GB.

No point paying a premium for DX11 Barging right & getting inferior performance.

^^yea the HD5700 series suck downright... the HD5770 at 9k wud hav been better........

HD5750 at 9k doesn't make sense,, especially when HD4850 sells for 6.6k and performs the same(almost)..
