Hi friends

I need a Graphics Card for HD 1080p play back, Minor gaming with resolution 1024 x 768 - low details only:). Low power consumption is must.:cool2:

Is HD 3450 with 256 MB DDR2 or DDR3 enough? Please suggest some Nvidia Gfx Card

Budget is around 2 to 2.5 K. CPU E2180, 2 GB RAM, Intel G31 Mobo

Please advise

Thank you for reading:)

Palit 9500 GT DDR3 version retails for 3.3k , which will perform much better with both HD1080p as well as in games than HD3450 ..

Get the 9500GT DDR3 if you can stretch the budget a lil.

8500 GT will NOT do the job. The 9500 GT is your best bet, or a used ATI Radeon HD 4650

Edit: Forgot to add if u need to use HDMI the radeons can pass audio directly through the card wheras for nvidia u need to attach an external SPDIF cable

8600GT is outdated and not vfm anymore for the performance it offers for the price a new one still sells for.
Unless the OP can get a used one for 2K or less with about a year's warranty left at the least. :)
But i still will avoid it and go for a 9500GT DDR3 at the min. :)

Get an HD 4350 with 512 MB DDR2, should cost arnd 2.5k or so.

Ideally I recommend an MSI HD 4650 1GB DDr2 ( costs 3.5k) and packs quite a lot of firepower :D

I am using a XFX 8500GT with 512MB. I get HD Rips 1080p and 720p on a daily basis. Have over 1.5TB of HD material and have no issues playing them. CUDA helps and the processor is never running above 10%. I have an C2D 4500 with 2GB of RAM.
