Thanks for the response guys,
will be checking with local dealers for the gtx260, I noticed an IC in the hot deals section for a local pune dealer selling these made by appollyon, did PM him as well.

Lets see, looking to get one by next week or something..
installed gta4 today is playing OK on the onboard video, this would definitely play very well once I get one of these..:)

correction, gta 4 is actually playing very bad on this.
checked only the first cut scene and drove the car to the protagonist's cousin's place yesterday before commenting, but after checking today, lots of display bugs, laggy playing and this weird issue of the entire camera or our perspective of the game swaying like crazy after a few mins.

Anyhoo, creating a thread in the market place today, if not found eventually would buy one from one of the dealers.

Thanks!

Hey Guys,
So I finally ended up getting an evga gtx 260 core 216 sc from SidhuPunjab here .
It's a very good card indeed.

One question though, I am getting an idle temp of around 47-53, is that fine or ..?

Nope that's not good. It's gr8!!!! 53C wow!

congrats man.i am too in the same boat as you just waiting for people to start selling their 4870's though as my board supports crossfire

Hey, thanks guys for the info.

@ rdst_1
I am sure you will get one, I too was looking out for ati card at first since my mobo supports crossfire as well, but I thought over it, and since I was not going to purchase another card very soon, and the performace of this card was very good, I decided to go with nvidia :)

btw, here is a pic, a bit cluttered and dirty though :p (had to also change the orientation of the psu to actually be able to plug in the mobo and fix in the card properly)

^ OMG

1. Why rear fan is intake ? (Rear fan is most critical)

2. Move 260 to top PCIe 16x slot (will allow better reach to SATA ports, USB ports)

3. Install HDD somewhere else, whats it doing in 5.25" bay ?

4. Revert SMPS orientation, fan should be facing down. CM 690 has cable routing hole, make use of that.

5. For god's sake, get rid of Legacy IDE devices. SATA is cheaper and faster, and no cable clutter.

Congrats on card, looks sexy :)

Oops,
1. Corrected it, I removed everything yesterday, goofed up while putting it in :p
2. Corrected it and put it in the upper slot. Had read it in the manual that the lower one was primary and the upper was a slave, so plugged it in like that, but tried reversing it a little while back, and its working properly, thanks!
3. Yeah I've got a IDE HDD and DVD Drive :p, and only one IDE cable on the mobo so have to place it there, will be switching to SATA next month
4. Yeah, will be reversing PSU orientation tomrw, and cable management is a pain, I couldn't do it properly the last time around, the cables seem to be on the shorter side :(
5. Yes will be switching them.

Thanks man for correcting me :)

I think the the slot on top is only 8X read the manual carefully so put the card back down.

The fan of the PSU has to be up ?

I don;t have any idea what sourcewop has been recommending...

sourcewop is right , smps should take air from outside cabby ( bottom ) and throw back . it will run cooler .

u can sell PATA hdd and get SATA for same price as PATA has more resale value .

read it on biostar's site right now, both are pci-e X 16 once crossfired it is 8X
So, I think the card on top is fine, the PSU orientation would be changed today, hopefully :P
