A friend of mine has 8800gt. Today morning he was doing cable management and cleaning up the cabinet in the process he left one wire hung between which got stuck between the gpu fan. He switched on the PC and using it after 10 mins the pc froze. He restarted nothing happened. He opened up the cabinet to check and saw the wire stuck there.

My queston on his behalf is will the company RMA his card or he will have to buy a new one. His card is a year old. :S:huh:

Just ask your friend to clean up the card. Go to Rashi in NP.
Tell them I was gaming for 3-4 hours straight and suddenly display went blank and PC frooze. Since then there is no/fussy display.
They will hand over a used/repaired piece to you most prolly in return.
You will be prolly be dealing w/ a guy named bhairav, if he still works there. Convience him to give you a new piece, which will arrive from their head office in bombay.
I've killed 4 8800GT's

PS - If anything is burnt which I doubt because I've run a 88GT w/o a HS for a 3-4secs before it died w/o any burn marks, clean em w/ nailpolish remover/Ciprit, etc

Thanks guys..will convey you msg to my friend.

it was this card.
