Thats nice but we'd still need to buy a motherboard for an AM3+ system anyways
 
ya thats right. But i have seen several news in internet stating that some of the AM3 mobo will support AM3+ proccy with bios update

They won't make more :P. They'll probably replace the old stock with this "Black Socket" stock @ a 25% higher price.

Afaik, the 880GM-UD2H is still available and going at 3.9k.

Yeah. The 880GM-UD2H and 880GM-USB3 are available in plenty. But their VFM 880GMA-UD2H is unavailable and finding the 880GA-UD3H is next to impossible. :(
