I really am unable to see the novelty of a product like this, even Asus had one similar a couple of years ago. What can it do that a small programmable display not do? And who checks the side of their case for these stats?

Personally I find the display on NZXT AIO which displays CPU and GPU temps. Maybe we can use it to show similar stats, like total power draw at real time etc.

Does it actually add value though? Why not get a programmable display and put it on top of your case? You can modify the values and it'll likely be cheaper than the delta for the display on the PSU?

The time invested is another conversation though

Mods: my message score was around 15 but got reset to 0 a few days ago? Can you please tell me why on PM? Have tried to connect with mods, but no result yet

After watching Tech Jesus and the storm that are exploding Gigabyte PSUs, their dumping of shitty hardware raises a few eyebrows and factors in whether these are good buys or not.

I think you didn't watch video properly....those psu are only 2 models p750 and 850 gold rated and that also not all fail....i am also using the 750w version, so far no issues.

I did watch the video man, what I said was in jest, it's a joke. Obviously, there are no reports of these ones failing. I do however question the ethics of the sales teams at Gigabyte who in partnership with NewEgg bundled and force dumped bad PSUs with GPUs etc., just to clear inventory.

Yeah....that part is bad

This is what happens when the company doesn't have control over manufacturing. All they are doing is buying these in bulk from China, slapping their label and selling it.
That's the reason why the components inside differ so much from unit to unit even though it's the same model.

And they bought so much that they can't get rid of it now and the ratings are so so bad that they can't sell on their own so Newegg has to bundle them with GPUs.

Yeah we noticed that in GN's teardown of some PSUs. Parts varied! So you don't know what you're getting basically. Best to stick with those that handle their own production and quality control.

That was the biggest issue.....but the bronze series doesn't have these type of issue...

They were also giving away the 2 suspected psus(750W/850W) for free with their monitors here. They did this multiples times in different sales.
