Gionee has launched a low cost Android for the Indian market. Dubbed the Gionee P1, this smartphone packs a small (by today's standard) 3.5 inch display, and is backed by a 1 GHz processor. A Mediatek chipset hums at the core, and Android 2.3 Gingerbread is the OS of choice.
Gionee P1

The Gionee P1 packs specs that are very similar to the Micromax A51 Bolt, which was also (incidentally) launched today. However, the biggest bundamental difference is the use of a (now) more mainstream Mediatek chipset. Rest specifications down to RAM and OS and battery and internal storage as well remain the same. A rather bland phone design, you can't really complain much due to it's low price tag.
