Giving W810i to wife - need replacement

Hi friends,

I am giving away my scratchless few months' old W810i to my wife who needs it as her very old phone died on her. I am looking for a new phone :ohyeah: for myself now.

I do not want to spend to much, but I am looking for something in the 11 to 16K bracket. A camera is not very essential for me. I realized I have hardly taken any pictures with my W810i. Therefore I was considering the the W950i (if it is still available - from ? Sify? Any other site recommended?

Also, anyone tried the HP510 Messenger phone?

Also, any other suggestions please?

My requirements:

1. A little uncommon phone.
2. Good network strength.
3. Walkman phone would be desirable.
4. A phone that one won't get tired of too easily (I know this is a difficult one).
5. Prefer SE phones, but open to trying out Nokias (I have never owned anything except SEs).
6. Prefer candybar designs. Sliders a no no. Can consider flip models.
 
W910i is just your need... go for it ;), price Rs. 15,000

Buy it from Local Shop, Sify, Rediff just robs you
 
i guess it wont be easy finding the w950 in grey from sify or other sites..i was looking for one..but cudnt get one....

indiaplaza had it but once money was deducted they refunded it as out of stock.....:(

i wud give w660 or w610 a look.....both at 10 k r deccent phones

or might be if at higher end then the new w890..that is cool..
 
N81 is ~15k i believe.

N78 is coming next month,which is good VFM.

I wont recommend any UIQ phone to anyone as its in very bad shape atm.

samsung G600 is also lowering to 16k mark i believe..

Then there is samsung P310,uncommon phone for sure :P

This one looks good, I must say. But I am not 100% sure, I would want it. Regarding the sites, what say about Ebay India? I have been buying regularly from there; no bad deals (touchwood). Also, what is your take on Indiatimes shopping?

I have never used a Nokia. The N series, are they plagued by software issues?

Also, what would be the price of the SE P1i?
 
Found a couple of W950 phones costing around 14,200/- or so (via courier), so thinking of going for the P1i for 17,500 locally. What say guys?
 
w950i best phone for music,mobile internet.:if its available there go for it.yes se stoped manufacturing this device but firmware updates are still available:)
 
W660 looks good.. just that the camera doesn't have autofocus.

P1i is a better choice than W950 because of the UIQ version, plus a camera(just if you need to). P1i lacks walkman, but if you need that there's W960 at double the price. N73 and it's siblings are getting quite common and aged. Even P1i is not the newest on the table.
 
Hi folks, thanks for your responses. I went ahead and bought the Sony Ericsson P1i today from EZone for 17.4K. I am exploring it right now and I am sure it is going to take me some getting used to it. I was tempted to go for the HTC touch at the store, but I gave it up cause it did not have a keyboard (the stylus is a pain with my Ipaq and I feel it is okay for occasional use, but not regular use). Also, no FM - Shefem for the occasional time when one is throughly bored. My sweet W810i goes to my wife and she sure is a happy soul. I was looking up a good old ScratchGard for this new handset, but I could not find anything good one Ebay India. Any leads?
