GMAIL and GTALK shows buddies with obsolete nick names

I don't know if it has been raised yet.

In my gmail chat and gtalk, i see the status names of people the same as that they were when i added them.

For example:

When i added my friend Ashok, his orkut nick name was "Ashok is enjoying India vs Pak matches"

Now even today, his name that appears in gtalk and gmail chat is the same, even though he claims he has changed this status a million times after this.

Ditto for all other buddies in the friend list.



Is this a known issue?

Or am i missing something?

This is known issue for all friends added to Gtalk via orkut..

Manually edit them once and its solved..

Yeah its the issue i also wanted to ask the same thing. how to refresh the changed nick.

Me too having a strange pblm in gtalk ..receving offlines with almost 1hr delay..Is anyone with the same pblm ???
