Gmail And Huge Space

Hi,
Gmail mail box size has increased to 4 GB and will keep on increasing.
And people are really drooling over thier gbox sizes ( i like to call it that way ).
But how many of you have really tried to touch that limit. Not me.
Thing is that no one ever tested if really 4 GB is kept separately for us or not.
In fact no separate storage is kept for u. If you are using 300 MB out of your 4GB then they allocate 400MB to you.

They have huge SANs on which resources are allocated on per need basis.

So nothing individualistic about storage.
I would like anyone knowing about the technology to come forward and share the details becuase i just cant remember the details.

This is how they can provide up to 10GB for free accounts, and 25GB for premium users :)

Oh and I've got 6 email ID's hooked to a single gmail account so I'm on the 25GB plan, which was previously 10GB.

Just check out Tomshardware.com site. Gmail is supporting IMAP and there is a video on the site detailing how to set up IMAP.

And good to know people have touched the limits but still truth is that storage gets dynamically updated depending on requirements till you touch your limits.
