Release Notes : GNOME 2.26 Release Notes

Will 2.26 be part of 9.04? I would like to see some changes in the volume control front. Pulse audio saks big time! :ohyeah:

^^Gnome 2.26.x will be available with upcoming releases such as Ubuntu 9.04 , Mandriva 2009.1 and Fedora 11.. you can also try it in Arch Linux ;)

I seriously want to branch out of Ubuntu into more matured distros, but waiting to get a HDD first to fit in 2-3 OS.. :D

but then that really doesnt support video confrencing and besides i am not even able to make voice calls ... it ends in an utter disaster :(

oh k .. i guess an update should do it rite ???
ah sad thats there only for gnome desktops :grrrrrrrrrr;
i am running KDE 4.2 Fedora 10 :P

^^No .. You cannot update DE.. All you need to do is to install it alongside Gnome 2.24 / KDE or other DE .. Currently only Mandriva and Ubuntu has packages for Gnome 2.26.0 :P

I am using Empathy and skype-32bit on Fedora as well as Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid works good.

Gnome-2.26 are all performance fixes ,I guess and Gnome is now miles ahead in bug fixes compared to kde.Gnome is going the way windows does - to be too easy to newbie as well as pro users.

An Ideal Workstation.

I read Gnome- 2.30 will be the Gnome's Leap to New toolkit(GTK-3.0+ ) as well as the Gnome-3.0(Hopefully!).All wishes.

I would like to try GARNOME or Jhbuild to compile latest Gnome .but too old to have the patience ;)
