Ok, so its a gift and i can slightly increase the budget by 1k. i.e total 6k(no more).

Please discuss if Creative Zen 4gb is the best player for my budget considering the following requirements...u see, dont wanna regret within 2 days ;)

- Good Music.

- Great Screen.

- Memory card support.

- Cool look.

- Decent after sales.

BTW, whats wrong with the Zen in-box headphones? Rate it w.r.t ep630 if possible.

I need to buy it tomorrow and if anyone can tell me the shops, i would be grateful to them.

Thanks all. :cool2:

Well, here's what you get with the Creative Zen:
- Good Music
- Great Screen
- Memory card support.. not!
- Cool look
- Decent after sales
- A whole bucketload of problems that may render any of the above ineffective.
The Zen isn't the best player in the Creative stable look for other models.

All bundled earphones (except some Sony buds) are not worth the time and should be replaced by at least an ep630 at the earliest :p.

Man, dont drop a bomb and go away just like that. Any proof? or experience? pls share. :(
Such replies are really depressing.

Haven't used it personally but I've read a lot of text in forums and reviews describing several "flaws" in the player. I think there are much better options, even from Creative itself.

Actually that's not entirely true anymore. I picked up an El Cheapo Sandisk Express and used its bundled earphones for 1 day when I left my Crossroads at home.

I was cursing myself thinking I would have to suffer listing to the crap sound coming from the cheap earphones. To my surprise, they were bloody good ! Not as good as the crossroads of course but not too far off. :eek:hyeah:

They even had bass which my old Crossroads lacked. By bass I mean actual bass, not the bloated mid bass that most cheap earphones have.

The mid range was also fantastic and the vocals are excellent. Of course it has its limitations. Its not a canal earphone, so no sound isolation compared to the Ep-630 which is one of the EP-630s trump cards.

i have the zen 8gb, great screen, pretty light, haven't faced any problems watsoever apart from the start, so updated to the latest firmware... nice backup time too... the bundled earphones aren't all that good.. you can't possible compare it with an ep-630..
