Well .. i decided on the following cams. :

Kodak Easyshare C875 : KODAK EASYSHARE C875 Zoom Digital Camera Manual

Now , plz. post ur opinions .. my budget is around 15k's .. also , i need to select from Kodak , Canon or Sony .. so quick .. i need to confirm it 2morrow morning itself :P ..

PS : Sony is least recommended only because of MSDuo :P ... unless ofcourse a 256 or 512 MB MSDuo costs under 1k's :P ..
 
Do not think of anything other than Canon A710-IS. Kodak are junk- W-55 is cute & pocketable but only 38-114MM -& properietary batt. 710-IS is real gem- 6X optical zoom is great everywhere. LCD is good & sharp-and Image stabliser really works. Best is movie mode is just great. Get Good 2500 MAh. chargeable NiMH Batteries & a fast charger & plenty of 2 GB SD card for all the movies U can shoot with this gem. Recently a friend purchased from Sifymall for about 12.5k
 
As much I'd like to disagree....go with an A710IS. :D

It'll be a while before you reach the camera's limits, and will help you learn photography from the basics to the more advanced techniques with it's entire range of manual modes.

:D How I'd loved to recommend a Sony! :D But sadly Sony doesn't have a compact with manual controls, yet. :(

PS: Always buy MS Duos from ebay. I bought my 1GB MSDuo Pro High-speed off ebay a year back to use with my Sony H2, and it's worked flawless for me. The 2GB MS Pro Duo now costs only Rs.990/- on ebay now.
