Going to coimbatore in Feb

Hey,
Any guys from Coimbatore over here?

I will be there for 3 months for training from Feb to April.

How is the place? (i have been there but was a child that time)

What all thing to keep in mind?

My training location is Kattoor, Coimbatore, pincode - 641009 .
Any idea if this is in the main city or somewhere on the outskirts?

Entire Tamilnadu is facing power scarcity for the past couple of years. Barring chennai, every other place in TN is facing 12 to 14 hrs of power cut per day. (yes, its that worst).
Coimbatore weather is pleasant. City is kept clean to an extent.
People here are friendly and helpful. Food is good.

Kattoor is in City itself.

If you have spare time, there are many places around Coimbatore to visit and spend time.
 
walk,,,,,,,if thats too much , only other option is cabs! do ask other people who have gone there recently for that fare ,or else you will get fleeced/cheated
 
brilliant weather ?? Isnt it same hot & humid as Chennai ?

Well, Get down & take a place where there is generator. Daily 12 hour power cut as of this writing & situation will remain same in coming months.
 
Accomodation will be provided by the company. Hence cannot decide on that.

12 hours power cut that is tooo much! especialy from someone like me coming from Mumbai!

Are prepaid taxi service available from the airport?
 
2 years since i been away from coimbatore , yes the powercuts are massive ...but it wont be that hot since its december , mozzies will kill you! there are prepaid taxis once you come out if i can recollect

@kippu I will going on 3rd Feb and be there till april end. So I guess it will be hot in the latter half of my stay.

i did my mba in coimbatore ..power cuts are there weather is cool nothing much to roam there though ..no disco/pubs just hve to settle with tasmacs - the local bar , but if u go near kerala route towards wayanad there is a awesome dhaba where i used to eat its called haryana dhaba finger licking tasty food .. me too from mumbai so food was a important thing for me ..
