I'm going to mumbai with my family for a vacation this Puja Holidays. I've already booked airplane tickets. I just need to know which is the nearest train station from Mumbai domestic airport as I am going to Goa.And how much time it would take regarding the situations including traffic jams to reach the station. Please help.
Thanks in advance.:)

nearest station - vile parle. from airport, it will take you 30 minutes to 45 max in heavy traffic.

Vile Parle is the closest station to the domestic airport. Don't know which train is it, if it's Konkan Kanya I believe it starts from CST & has a stop at Dadar.

pls post the goa train details kokan kanya train departs at night from cst rly stn which is far from domestic airport if u hav luggage preferably take a prepaid taxi and avoid the crowded local trains of mumbai.

+1 to this.

@OP your first post is confusing. Are you going to mumbai or goa? you have'nt mentioned anything about tickets in the post too.
If you are going to goa via the mumbai domestic airport, then Vile Parle Station on the western railway line is your nearest station.

OTOH, if you are going to goa via train, then all mumbai->goa trains are on central railway line, in which case the nearest option from the airport would be Kurla Station depending on your train details.

I'm going to land in Mumbai then take the train to goa. Thanks for all the replys.

My train is from Panvel as written in my E-Ticketing about 10:5 pm on 14th of OCTOBER.Would you please tell me how much time it would take to reach Panvel from the domestic airport.

A long time...depending on when your plane lands.
You need to go to either Bandra or Andheri or Kurla station to catch a train on the Harbour Line.
Kurla is a mess; go there only if you're brave. Andheri is overcrowded, and with all the construction work, getting to Andheri from the airport might take a long time.
I'd suggest going to Bandra, and taking a train from there. It'll drop you off at Panvel.
I think getting from the airport to Bandra should take about 45 mins to an hour + it'll take you about 20-30 mins to get your ticket and for your train to come to the station. Remember you need to get on the Harbour Line train.
The train should take another 45 mins to an hour to get to Panvel.
So the worst case scenario is that it'll take you 2-2 1/2 hrs to get to Panvel.

I believe you are better off going to andheri station, and taking an Andheri - Panvel train. Mainly 'coz the train starts at Andheri and so you have a better chance of being seated for the entire 1.5 hour journey. Although, I must warn that these direct trains are less frequent, maybe once every hour. So check with some Mumbai localites about the schedule of these trains, and try to catch one at around 7 p.m from Andheri. BTW, what time does your flight land at Mumbai?

The airplane lands in mumbai at about 6 :30 pm.

Thanks again for the help.
You can catch the 8:15 pm train from andheri to panvel.

The next train would be at 9:10 pm.It will take 1hr 35 mins to reach panvel.

Just book a meru cab to avoid inconvenience.
Meru Offices|Branches - Meru

I had a work colleague who had cell phone numbers of more than a dozen meru cab drivers. He would call a random driver and ask him where he is. If he was far away then he would hang up and call another driver. There was always a driver near by.
