it will better to wait for Samsung Syncmaster 770p 17 inch LCD.

it is the best 17 inch LCD.

the Viewsonic VX Series sucks as it only has speed not quality.

Samsung Syncmaster 770p has both.

Ask Chaos if you do not trust me. :)

I totally trust your search udit :)... What makes you wonder i dont :P...

How is this ViewSonic LCD... Remember i plan to game on it... VA912b

From the specs it seems good, though it hasnt been mentioned if its an 8 bit panel. Chaos said avoid goin for anythin other than 8 bit. And if the price is $379 there, its gonna be over 25k here.

in that case buy -

Viewsonic VA1912wb 19 inch 8 ms Widescreen LCD Monitor = Rs. 22000

it beats the VA912b atleast.

I have been quoted Rs 21K for the Monitor.. Viewsonic VA912b 19"...

Jus checked newegg, its for $280 shipped = 12.5k. Considering this, dosent 21k seem too high now :S

Get the VP930b switchy... its the best deal in town. Spend that little extra ;)

Whats the diff between the two chaos? I checked and the specs are similar and both are 8ms. Are both 8 bit tho? Also its price - $420 on newegg which makes it a lot more expensive.

I am using a Sony HS95..

I really didn't bother about the specs and don't rem any of it now, but what I can tell you is that I see absolutely no Ghosting or streaking while gaming! Zero, Zilch, unless my eyes have a slow response time ;)

From what I know, Manf specs on LCDs are highly misleading, and many often putup conflicting specs on different country sites for the same model :P

Exactly the reason why you should look at what type of panel it uses before you buy. The best are S-IPS, the MVA+Overdrive are close, PVA has great colors but slow response. TN has pathetic color accuracy but extremely fast response.

Just checked with Samsung in Pune. 770P costs Rs 28500/- 970P not available here. Delivery time 2-3 weeks after placing order. Too expensive for a 17" :(
