Good 3G Dongle & 3G plan in Pondicherry

Guys, I need your help on this. This is my first time using 3G. Requirements:

1) Best 3G Plan for use in Pondicherry and Tamilnadu. Usage - heavy browsing and mail, some minor downloads.
2) Good dongle for longer usage. Prefer to buy them in Chennai or online. Budget ~ 1k . 1k More if needed.

This is a buy for the next week. So help me out guys.
 
Pondicherry has an excellent network coverage by most of the leading players - BSNL, Airtel, Aircel and Vodaphone. In addition, MTS has an excellent coverage too. Not very sure about Reliance or Photon. Tell me which part of Pondicherry you will be staying most of the time, and I can suggest better.

The OP has posted the current 3G plans of most major players.

About the 3G dongle, I think you should get the cheapest one from either ZTE or Micromax or Huawei. Get an unlocked one from ebay, and you are good to go. I am not aware of the exact models that are in vogue right now. Maybe you could check one from our market section:

P.S: Are you shifting to Pondicherry, or is it just a long vacation?
 
Nah just some long vacation for a month and some office work in between. If shifting I would have gone for BBand.
Yeah gone through the thread on tariffs, but not all rates are there. Like MTS & Docomo are not available. Thats y. I plan to get Aircel and have Airtel on standby.
Just the dongle is left with.
 
Ok Guys. Need help ASAP.

3G Dongle - Have zeroed in on Huawei USB E 352 @ INR 1750.
3G Plan - Aircel 128 recharge. Has anyone used Airtel INR 10 plan for 30min usage. Any idea on this.

@jagabs I'm not too sure. MTS should work. You should enquire someone in your locality. To my knowledge, MTS works absolutely fine in most parts of Pondicherry.
