hey guys im in my final year

n seems campus recruitment's are going for a toss this year!

:(

can any one suggest some good website to submit my resume ... needless to say ill be applying as a graduate trainee ... im pretty ill informed about recruiters / even other career options . But my first preference is to find a job not primarily for financial gain but for good solid work ex ,something which could help me build upon for future career decisions(study more?..in what field?..what type of job profile? etc) .:)

ive done my internship at Maruti Suzuki I.Ltd for a couple of months ... was a great experience ... but was very short lived so cant really decide whether i want a job or pursue further education .

oh btw im a mechE :cool2:

1. Become an unpaid Apprentice in a core company - if its ONLY industry experience you need !

2. Posting your resume on various job sites : Monster, Naukri, TimesJob, Jobstreet, Shine, Udyogi etc. and searching for ideal jobs every now and then.

3. Mail copies of your resume to various placement agencies in your city.

4. Create and submit your profile(and upload your resume) directly to suitable company databases, through the "careers" section.

5. Get ready to wait !

Meanwhile, think about your study options. Prerequisites? Location? Course? etc..

FYI, there are so many 2009 passouts who are still looking for a job, so don't have too many expectations.

Let me be very honest: Naukri and other such sites wont give you the results as quickly as you think you may. So the part where TTM said - be prepared to wait - holds an even greater value.

Btw, even though you're from Mech, you could/should try for jobs other than your field [IT n stuff].. just to increase the probability of finding one.

Oh yes, left that part out !
LEAVE YOUR OPTIONS OPEN AND APPLY IN VARIOUS FUNCTIONAL AREAS.

And offers/calls are hard to come by, so be prepared for anything.

And try to keep your resume as professional and individual as it is. Don't just submit mass generic resume because they mostly will ignore this. Try to get to know your prospective employer more, a good employer knows what they want and they know if you make an extra mile to keep your application tailored to their need.

Try to contact the people at Maruti where you did your intern for the job. Also I would suggest you to decide first on Job/education before taking the plunge.

In my opinion take GRE and go for american/german universities.

Its easier said than done. The financial burden is too much to handle for many people. Getting scholarships and on campus jobs is not as easy now as it used to be. There is no point in going to some bottom ranked mediocre university in states just for the sake of going to US.
The current campus recruitment scene is dull at best, but still its not hopeless situation. If your academic record is good, you will still get placed somewhere.

If not, then in addition to posting your resume to job sites, directly send your resumes to the company hr dept.

Some employers may not have specific recruitment open, but many will still accept your resume and you never know you might get placed somewhere. I did get placed this way.

Try to get in touch with other people in family, friend's circle in your field. Offer to help or pitch in and help with their project, work even if it does not benefit you financially.( provided you can ;) ) Good deeds does not always go unrewarded.

Basically keep open mind and look for opportunities. Many are hiding in plain sight.

If nothing comes your way, you can go for further studies in management if you are interested.

Dont have a mindset where only thing you are looking for is well paying job right after graduation. Some lucky, hard working people with extremely good academic record do get it, but it does not mean that average joe who was not in top 10% of their class does not shine in real world.

for a mechnical engineer, prefernce would be for a piping engineer (salary and job prospect wise)...for details check the site of any EPC( engineering procurement construction) company.....a degree in mechanical is fine...but in case you take time to get a job (coz of recession) apply to any reputed ones providing the course (in piping design software) which can be an advantage...as for who is providing the course i dont have the info with me

@ Shripad: After working for two years for a Big 4 firm, I feel more than desperate to get back to studies and the field of my choice rather than doing a job just for the sake of money. I agree funding, scholarships and part time jobs are scarce these days but again as you said "Hard work" is the key here.

Everyone was giving opinion on jobs I gave my opinion on higher education in fewer words. Just my 2 cents.

@ OP: Please give an update from your side as well. There are people belonging to all domains of life in TE. The more you tell bout yourself the more it will help people to help you :)

Naukri ended up flooding my inbox with placement offers from "KALL CANTARS". IF thats what you want you dont even need a resume lol. Just spikk proper english and go to the Dell office, lol.

I think apart from posting on Naukri and monster sites you need to continuously update your resume on these sites as recruiters also search for resume that are fresh and has been posted in a day or 2.
