hi!
i have finally decided on the dell 1320 13.3 incher
i now need to buy a very good tough, strong, water proof, dust proof, mumbai-local train proof laptop backpack within 3500rs.
any recommendations?
also what are good laptop sleeves i can buy---same parameters as above---water proof/dust proof/shock proof.
am very excited--me very first lappy with me very own money!!!

it would be great if you could give me the model number/brand of the backpack+price

how is ygl--a lot of shops selling bags recommend me this brand--some chinese brand and i have seen it a lot+its cheap.

i also saw a sony vaio backpack for 2000rs at the sony store--really good looking but how is it to live with??

was hoping someone would enlighten me more on samsonite,etc

Not sure about his. But wouldn't sourcing a Targus through KMD (from the US) turn out to be cheaper than getting it from Croma? What with all those deals ...
 
I accidentally and luckily :P got two Targus laptop backpacks when I ordered my Dell Laptop. One is lying sealed, never been used.

The other one, I have abused the hell outta it. From work to trekking to overloading it, not even a stitch has come off and the zips are as good as new. The quality is top notch! No wonder they offer a lifetime warranty on it.

I have the spare one, and can let it go for less. Let me know if interested.
 
I don't know how will you arrange for these, but here goes -

I saw one of these backpacks with my friend who had just returned from the US and he picked it up in NYC, so you just might get it through KMD. Those Swiss Gear backpacks are awesome. Sturdy, great looks, waterproof, rainproof, dust proof, but they might not fall under 3500. :( Even I want one of those. :P

You should also check out the "Insect" backpack from Delsey, available at any VIP luggage store all over the country. It retails for 4200 INR and is one the best backpacks I have come across. I had to buy another cheaper backpack last year due to cash shortage and extreme need, otherwise the Delsey Insect was my first choice. Still is as a matter of fact, and I am hoping that the current bag would tear or break apart or simply vanish one fine day, albeit without the laptop in it. :P
