Hi there, there's a good news for those who are thinking of or stuck in choosing which midrange card they should go for. Finally AMD is releasing their 2600 series.......:hap2:

AMD Radeon HD 2400-, HD 2600-based cards to hit the market on June 28
Graphics cards based on AMD's mid-range Radeon HD 2600, and entry-level HD 2400 will hit the market on June 28 after a delay of more than a month, according to sources at graphics cards makers.

AMD had originally been expected to launch cards with the DirectX 10-supporting HD 2600 and HD 2400 in May, but now their launch will come more than two months later than Nvidia's G84 and G86, the sources indicated.

Well they'll take forever to get to India as ATI cards normally do (AMD why dont you do something about distribution in India), besides apart from the UVD I doubt they'll be much better then the current nV mid range lineup.

Even if I get HD 2900 to buy then also I can't cause the Open SOurce support for their driver are poor while nVIDIA rule the way providing driver for Open SOurce Os :thumb:

That has always been a plus point of nV, maybe this will change with AMD in control now....as soon as AMD gets back on its feet...

^^ OMG HX 2600 Pro and XT are way ahead both the 8600 ..... :O WTH ..may ATI makes good driver support for Open SOurce :)

^ thanks for the link

At default detail and a default resolution of 1280x720, the game runs pretty decent on the HD 2600 XT. The Snow level exhibits some minor stuttering, as does the Cave. Overclocking only yields very small gains, and is unnoticeable during gameplay. When we turn on the DX10 goodness, this get a little slower - in fact, the game runs about half speed and we are now seeing framerate averages at 17-21FPS. In order to make the game playable on this card, you'd have to drop some eyecandy and the resolution. In my opinion, that would negate the point of a DX10 gaming graphics card.

This card the best for Video and HD and that sorta thing but If you are a casual gamer interested in DX10 gaming then this card sucks
