it all seems intel's gonna have a wild party all of 2007. so many processors at every price range & performing at their best. its gonna be tough for IT infrastructure implementation as well to decide betw. all these good silicon wafers

Now this :
HKEPC Hardware - IT News

Core 2 Quad Q6400 is most likely has a price lower than $450 when it is released into market in Q3 2007, implying Quad Core is no longer be high end only.

Core 2 Quad Q6400 remains in Kentsfield core like others released models. Standards for this model include: 65nm manufacturing process, LGA 775 package, clock speed at 2.13Ghz, 1066MHz FSB, and 4MB x 2 L2 Cache. Core 2 Quad Q6400 also support for Intel ViiV, VT, EIST, 64 and Execute Disable Bit. Combining the performance provided and the low price, this would be a great rival for AMD’s AM2+ processors.

Hmm, This is real good news!! :)

Btw, i dont think too that it will take a few months for the prices in India to reflect Us prices. At the max will be near 2 weeks or so.

So its official...Our guys selling the core2duo for the quadcore they prob getting frm abroad...tsk tsk.

@poboy - if u havent noticed. ddr2 prices have already started to reduce. ddr2@1000 is available for 300-310$ in usa & ddr2@800 is for around 210-220$.

Its only that the crucial ballistix sticks are available at those prices. The rest of the stuff is still very costly. Also if you were not aware the drop in prices of ddr2 800 is cos most makers switched from Micron D9 to other cheaper alternatives such as Promos or Elpida. Thats the reason 800MHz ram prices dropped. Basically you are getting cheaper ram but you are getting crappier chips too.

any idea when we will get fully branded quadcore system ? ... its for one my Friends who needs it,his offfice does not allow Assembled System since they have faced some "So called" Problems in the past...

I am still sticking with my Athlon XP 1700+ and waiting for the right time to upgrade, so that I can purchase a real Good Procy, MB and RAM.

@Chaos ... can u help u help out with any online link ?searched could not find one

Wat about availiablity in india ?

Cheers

I don't think it will take more than 2-3 weeks for the intel proccy prices in india to drop after the US price drop.

BTW, any idea whenn the mobo prices will drop??

[OT] One of the things i hate about the C2D and C2Q scenario is the mobo scene.Which IMHO is depressing. There is less variety, prices arent digestable and are undeserving in some cases. This may not be the case in US/Europe but its definately there in India.Infact the situation is real bad.WHen i think of it all,i remember the golden A64 days, lotsa varieties, cheap OCable boards, stable bugfree boards, what more can you ask for ? IMO there is not a single C2D board that is a clear winner overall and is absolutely bugfree ,something like DFI NF4 Ultra-D or something...
