Good Nokia Symbian Phone

Hi. Need a phone for my Dad. He's really really used to Nokia 6670 and doesn't want to move to any interface thats majorly different.

Basically I want a suggestion with the following criteria.
1) Symbian Series 60 Nokia
2) Regular candybar size (not QWERTY or touchscreen)
3) Lightweight and good-looking
4) Good for messaging because he sends abt 30 self-typed messages a day

The N70 and N72 seem like ideal choices but he doesn't want them because they have become really really old and everyone has them since 1-2 years.

Our budget is anywhere from 5 thousand to 15 thousand.

Please help me out here guys.

If it wasnt for sending msgs, i would have suggested the N73... However, instead of the E51, i suggest you go for the E52, its just been launched.. and is an upgrade to the E51 and comes with Wi-FI :)

^I think you're mistaking E50 with E51, and E51 with E52. It's actually E51 which has been launched with WLAN and many improved features, and is meant to be an upgrade to E50.

There is no Nokia E52 as of yet.

Personally, I am very happy with the E50 (especially since the latest firmware has got rid of all the bugs). But since it's for your dad, it would entirely depend on his eyesight. The font is very small, but at the same time it is very clear and sharp. I would imagine the E51 is probably the same.

OT: 12k for the E51? seriously?! That's a great price!

Also, look for this new model which should be launching pretty soon: Nokia 6120 Classic. It seems to be very good, and has received very positive reviews.

oh yeah... my bad:ashamed: ... i meant the E51... Sunday sleep mistake

Thanks for all the advice. Went through all the above models and somehow there was one problem or the other. Some missed on a crucial functionality, some didnt have good looks etc etc.

What if I go for N70 or N72 itself. Are there any problems with these models.

Also which one among N70 and N72 is better?

except for 2 cam's on n70.. rest are same in both. n70/n72 seems to be old n will soon be outdated . go for 6120 or e51 if possible
