continuing with the food theme in GT, here's my contribution :P got this idea from another forum.

So people come up with restaurant names and whats good, and specialities in that restaurant.

Mast Kalandar (There are several in Bangalore..I've been to the Bannerghatta one)

The most amazing North Indian food that you can have in Southern India. The ambience is nice, the pricing is good and the food simply awesome.

Must try: Sinful Paneer Combo meal. :)

^^
also try balle balle pindi cholle and rajma chawal.Their Amristari kulche are very good.

Gufa ,Near Jayanagar
with a cave like ambiance and waiters and managers dressed like shikari shambu
from tinkle. This place is a must visit. It is a little expensive though.

Known for its afghani food.

Oye amristar,on residency road comes on the same road as three quarter chinese
Has the ambience of punjabi dhaba.Awesome punjabi food. Must try their lassi.

I didnt like Mast Kalandar at all.

Gufa is nice, but nothing special.

For buffets, Oriental Spice in Ashraya Hotel on Infantry road.

Indijoe's for Sizzlers and stuff. You should know this :P

Chinese food -- Aromas Of China, Mainland China(complete rip off), Three Quarter's chinese and Beijing Bites (cheap but good).

Roadside food -- Kabab Magic. Simply awesome rolls. They make it with roomali roti which I love. In other places like Empire, they make shawarma rolls with a different type of bread. I forgot the name of that. Also, try Fanoos for rolls.

Casa Piccola is good too... though the serving size is steadily reducing but the prices arent. The Black Forest Crepe is heavenly.

Taj Residency Cake shop is awesome for cheesecakes. Have eaten there twice and my god !! It's awesome.

Pizza Port (Koramangala, M G Road and Indiranagar). As the name says, Pizzas mainly, but they have amazing burgers too. Super duper cheap stuff. They have offers like buy a large pizza and get 3 burgers free. Large pizza costs from 360-440 for non-veg. Burgers cost from 50-78. They have single, double, triple, lamb burgers, beef burgers. One of our favourite places for cheap but good food. They deliver within a certain radius.

Then, there are always the Chungs, Chung Wahs, Yo Chinas (:P ), Domino's, Mc Donalds, KFCs, etc...

^^I love pizza Port. Unfortunately I don't get to go there very often.

For the most awesome Mutton Biryani ever - Samarkand, Infantry Road.

For continental food/Steaks - Jukebox in Koramangala (Its very near Pizza Port)

The best steaks in Bangalore are at Miller's 46 on Miller's Road... Rest are just desi variations of the same and never the original. Another place I'd heartily recommend is Harima for authentic Japanese food. A million times better than Zen in Leela and a way way less expensive.

For quasi continental/italian/mediterranean there's a place called Olive Beach on Castle/Wood street. Their sunday brunch is excellent though a tad pricey.

For chinese/thai and stuff, the best I've come across in bangalore is Shiok on CMH road.

Now dat's a nice thread. I was like unknown of so many restaurants and was bored of the same old Chyung-Wah's, Mac and KFC.
I can now hop onto all of these. Thanks a lot.:)
Guys, do u know of a place where we get the best tandoor in Bangalore?

Kabab Studio @The Goldfinch hotel for very nice kababs and afghani type cusine

Lazeez at Comm. Street, Kmangala etc for yummy rolls and biriyani :hap2:

Even the other restaurant in Goldfinch called Sanadige is pretty decent for seafood. Though being in bangalore, seafood is never as fresh as say mahabs or something :P.

The Hyderabad House in Bangy is strictly passable compared to the ones in Hyderabad. Nothing comes close to Paradise in Hyderabad for hyderabadi style chicken/mutton biryani.

guys wat abt the punjabi dhaba just besides the gurudwara ?? thats the most authentic north indian food i have had in bangalore apart from Indira nagar BDA complex dhabas..

^^The food is kickass but I personally detest sitting in those surroundings and eating. Not my cup of tea.

My most frequented places where Shiok, Indijoe, Eden Garden, Samarkhand... in addition to the great food, they have an excellent selection of drinks for the ladies too ;) And the service, well, let's say they knew me by name.
