Hi,

I want to use google apps. So I was changing MX entry in my cPanel.

I m following these instructions: https://www.google.com/support/a/bin/answer.py?answer=33915

So, there is 1 priority, then 5, again 5, then 10, again 10.

So, when I enter 3rd MX record, i.e. ALT2.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. it overwrites my older record i.e. ALT1.ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM. That's because both have same priority I think.

Therefore new one is overwritting my old mx entry. So what should I do? I cannot give same priority to two of the records, that's my problem.

So what priority should I give? Pls reply fast, as I m waiting..

If that priority doesn't work, start with 10 and increment priority by 10 for the remaining servers. I've setup mine the same way but in Plesk though.

ok, thanx, I did exactly the same way as mentioned by u. And now in domain servoces, it says Email (Active).

One question though, I've previously setup mine email account in outlook. So do I need to change any settings in outlook? Or should I configure outlook from scratch?

^^See, currently I write mail.mydomainname.com in incoming as well as outgoing mail server, in outlook. So, should I change this? And if yes, to what? I have outlook 07.

I m currently reading this one article: Outlook 2007 - Gmail Help.

Incoming mail server: pop.gmail.com (Google Apps users, enter the server names provided, don't add your domain name in these steps)

Outgoing mail server (SMTP): smtp.gmail.com

I m quite confused what to write in incoming mail server & outgoing mail server.
