Hi,
I'd like to know if it's safe to use Google Checkout to purchase Android apps?

Would like to know others' experiences with it.

Does it work with Indian cards? Does it only work with credit cards or will debit cards also work? Any conversion charges levied etc?

Thanks,
Maestro

Google checkout is a hassle free experience, used it to buy Nexus ones.

No Idea about Indian cards, had no issues with Singaporean cards.

Hi,

Google checkout is safe, you can happily buy apps. No issues so far for me. I have bought numerous apps from Market, no problems what so ever.

I use my HDFC Gold Credit card and a Platinum Chip Credit card. Don't know about other cards, but most of them should work.

Till now, no conversion charges were levied to my purchases.

Go ahead with your purchase :)

^ That is charged by your card issuer. Almost all banks mark up the exchange rate by about 3.5% for foreign currency transactions.

But in mose cases it won't be shown separately in your statement, the amount shown in your statement will be inclusive of all these surcharges.

^^ yeah you are true, just now checked my card statements, I was charged Rs.1.53 and Rs.1.57 some four days after my purchase listed as "FCY CONVERSION MARKUP". Never noticed this :P

Thanks for the info ;)
