Disclaimer. I'm making assumptions based on my my personal experience.

I wanted to leave feedback on Firefox mobile browser in the Play Store. It kept asking me to sign up for g+. If I hit cancel, it didn't even give option to leave a feedback. Could access feedback fields and leave a feedback only after I signed up for g+.

Have any of you had similar experience while trying to leave feedback for some app in play store?

Ah, so they are actually trying to increase users forcibly. Facebook competition or just for sake of gloating in future?

It's happening for past few months since they have made g + necessary for leaving feedback in play store. They are making all their services unified with a single g + user account.

The reason they've provided is to reduce the no. of fake feedbacks left by users. They are trying to build some sort of credibility to their feedback system.

I understand why one would feel that you are being forced to open a G+ account but at the end of they day yoy can just open it and never use it. Google in any case tracks everything you do on the web.

I just saw that,in order to comment on youtube videos, i'v to signup for g+.

It's just that everything is now going to be one g+ account instead of a google account. Everything using the G+ account.

HANGout just hangs me out there on my Android phone.
Don't know why I am seeing a lot of Wave/Buzzes these days.

Not really FB competition but to reduce fake reviews. But still the way they are doing is utter irritation.

Hangouts - Only sore issue is the non availability of the online indicators. Else, dont find much of an issue with it. So have stuck to Talk on the desktop while gone with hangouts on the phone.

And yeah -> To review on both play store and youtube a G+ account is needed. Not much of a change, but I liked the new G+ looks.
