Google Glass. Threat to privacy?

Hi.

I am a Google Glass Owner. Let's get that out of the way.

I was reading a news that Google Glass is being banned in movie theaters in UK. Co-incidentally, I was watching Transformers 4 yesterday and was wondering, Boy If I had the glass with me now. :).

It also does let me take pictures and videos incognito. But the glass is nothing but incognito. It sticks out like a sore thumb. People know it. Everywhere. And for those who don't, they stare at you. constantly. Then why the ruckus about this privacy? I feel the wearer will feel invaded more often. :D.

What do you think? Imagine wearing glass and riding a bus or train in India. :D

In India, at present may be only 1% of the population knows what is Google Glass. The rest 99% would take the wearer as a weirdo or a show-off or a person with disease. GG has a lot of potential but at least in our country, people will be abusing it more than using.

In addition to groping women, pictures will be taken too

Still, my question is. Whose privacy is invaded? I feel the person who is wearing the glass will be stared at most.

All the paranoia about glass in media is relevant when Glass users are perverts. Who buys a 1500 item to take up-skirt pics of some girl in train or bus? Or is it like no pics of any type? Then look at the n number of photos of people in our photography section itself? DSLR users call it art. And what about the N no of security camera? So privacy invasion ok for security reasons?

Came across a good read here, though did not agree with some points mentioned there.

As for price, GG is still in beta and not consumer ready. When it becomes ready (if at all) then the price would come down a lot. May be in the range of $200-400 and will then be available to a lot of people and not within an exclusive community.

For me personally, two things would stand out - Navigation and the use of camera
