It has already been posted and discussed when it was released, and that was quite some time back.
I was just wondering - If you do subscribe for the service, and let your friends know your co-ordinates.. Can you, later on, unsubscribe from it?
^^ U can disable auto location update 
... i have it set to manual ... so its updates only when i want it to .. plus u need to add people to your friends list on latitude and only they can see u're position ... been using it on my mobile for some time and its really fun ..
