Google Location History: Keep your Timeline data? Decide soon

I want to keep my maps history but I will not be able to see it on web. Right?

It was fun while it lasted. I don't remember if I ever searched for my timeline and looked at it. I only looked at it couple of times ever because of that mail, and used to chuckle at myself.

But if this means no cloud storage for timelines, and it becomes device-only (means losing all data if you reset the device) then I will happily turn it off.
