Google map shows my wrong location on win 10/11 across browsers

On my desktop, whenever I open google maps on any browser it shows my wrong current location, even though its somewhere my city.
Tried in FF, Edge, Chrome.
I always have to enter manually my current location.

Even on Windows Maps app it shows some different location even though its somewhere within my city even though I have set accurate location in the app.
I have tried resetting the Maps app etc.
Windows Location services are also on for all the apps/browsers.

What could be the issue?

Else there's no issue with searching for any location etc.

On my office laptop the location is accurate!

AFAIK location is derived from IP address for computes and devices not having gps devices and my laptop doesnt have any gps inbuilt and so desktop shall also show accurate location base don ip address.

is this a laptop or PC?
then it mostlikely does not have a built in GPS and is estimating your location using IP and certain other factors. So won't be accurate.

then its exactly what I said its just estimating your location by IP.
in the case of laptop it might be because of wifi and stuff which can be used to get your general location using various techniques even without having a GPS

Laptop and desktop both share same ip ranges from same router on the same isp. So, no question of any different network etc. IN fact both the desktop and laptop sit in the same room on the same table, now say.

Desktop and Laptop both don't have GPS, so location can only be guessed using tricks like wifi SSID and IP address.

It will not be accurate so don't bother too much about this.

Not really bothered but if on all laptops it is showing accurate result/location then what could be wrong with the desktop is the query.

By any chance you are logged in with same Google account as your phone's, in that case Google maybe showing the correct location because both of your devices i.e. phone and laptop are on the same Wi-Fi
