Google Nexus 4 has been sold out on Play Store in the USA in both 8GB and 16GB capacities and probably not coming in stock again.

After recent price cuts of Nexus 4 to $199 and $249 for the 8GB and 16GB versions, the device has been selling like hot cakes. The 8GB version got sold out few days back and now the 16GB variant has also gone out of stock.

The Verge reports that Google will not restock the Nexus 4 again, as the device has reached end of life. Its successor, Nexus 5 is expected to be announced next month with Android 4.4 KitKat OS.

The Nexus 4 is still available in some other countries on Play Store till stocks last. In India the device can still be had for as low as Rs 24000 with LG official warranty.

In India LG will continue to sell it for 24K-ish as long as their stocks last as N5 won't be available in India may be before mid or end of 2014.

Who cares?
Every coming device will be uber-expensive as you can see from the Note 3 launch price. So if they again launch the Nexus 5 for $350 and taxes, it will be still turn out to be cheaper if imported.

The Nexus 4 was officially available in India a little over 6 months after its international launch - May 2013, to be precise.

lol....never knew you to be so ignorant.

Galaxy Nexus wasn't launched in India officially, N4 was launched after 6 months and none of the Nexus phones are available at the subsidized rate through Google's Play store yet -- so don't these things contribute in making the news essentially irrelevant for the majority of consumers in India? And once the official maker, most probably would be LG, launches this in India, there would be the atrocious pricing by them to justify the warranty as @rdst_1 mentioned.

Actually LG priced the Nexus 4 very competitively and pretty close to US pricing. It was just that they took 6 months to do it.
When I mentioned atrocious pricing I meant the current pricing of the newly launched phones.
Let's say Nexus 5 is again subsidized and launched at $350 plus taxes. So even at the current dollar prices, it won't cost more than 30k. Whereas all new flagships are being launched at around 45-50k. So even after 1-1.5 months their price is only gonna drop to around 40k. If the Nexus 5 is really based on the LG G2, then for less than 30k, it will be definitely a no-brainer even if imported and without warranty.

Lucky me.... Ordered one just last week from US. Will be getting it in my hands in a day or two. Being delivered by a friend returning from US.

Care to explain ? Just a lol doesn't really help.

The Nexus 4 has a pretty decent price. Also, it was released in India way before it's successor will be announced. Why moan and groan every time when you know that India will not get a simultaneous release. The Play Store pricing for the Nexus 4 is a one off. Sure Google could subsidize future iterations but do you think they will subsidize it for the rest of the world?
