Android Google Nexus 6 announced

Why are you upset with Motorola? It was Google's decision to make a phablet. Motorola merely carried out their vision.

We are not sure here. Do you think Motorola would have agreed with Google making a phone that is 5.2" with SD805 and 3GB Ram with pricing may be.. 30k ? No. It would have seriously damaged Motorola's X's line, i.e X Gen 2. Something to think about.

N5 feels just about right in my hand and I handled a lot of 6" devices

btw, I really hope Google tries to do a GPE of Galaxy Alpha. In pictures it looks alright but man, did that phone look hawt as hell when I first put it on my hand today. Saw it in a store and it was just SEXY. Everything is just perfect with that phone's design. I hope Google next year gives Samsung a try for their Nexus brand. And with alpha like design, 5" display with SD810 , 3GB ram , 3000mAH , it would be the best phone ever made..

Seriously guys, pictures on the webs really don't do alpha any justice... go out in a store or something and give it a try. Besides shitty software and specs... it's a must have for people who are looking for a phone just for looks. Not even iPhone 4(which I think has the best design overall ever) comes close to beat galaxy alpha. It should be given best phone design porn award of the year really.

If Google really wanted to make a low cost phone (with a smaller screen, cutting corners with battery and camera) and Motorola didn't agree, they would have just gone with another OEM. Google handles design (which includes specs and physical dimensions), development, marketing and support because the Nexus devices are an extension of their vision for high end Android hardware each year.

It's basically Google saying "Here's how we'd make a phablet." Also, it makes sense that they're pushing bigger screens because they're also heavily marketing Android Wear simultaneously for the convenience factor.

Haven't seen the Alpha (but the removable back looks cheap in pictures) but each OEM typically gets 2 shots at a Nexus phone and Samsung already had their turn. While not a hard and fast rule, I don't think they'll be making another Nexus phone for a while. Personally, my vote for the next Nexus phone OEM would be Sony. They did some serious work this year with the wonderful Z3 line.

I think problems with most of us is the price, we can compromise on features like camera / battery / build quality but not on the price.

On the same spec, is GN4 but with stylus and more matured software to use big screen(stylus + lots of features/gimmics) but its a bit costly but their price falls steeply after 2/3 months of launch.

Only draw back which I feel is that its(SD805) is not 64 bit supported and Android would be going 64 bit next year(most probably), while Exynos variant of GN4 is 64 bit supported.
If I have enough money, then I will prolly go for GN4(exynos one) instead N6 and you can enjoy Lollipop best on Nexus 5, which you can hold easily in one hand.

32 GB - Rs 44,000
64 GB - Rs 49,000

I think the price is nice compared to USA. In India the pricing is inclusive of tax, shipping and customs. Last year the price of nexus 5 was Rs29000 inclusive of everything.

The final price of ordering in US was around 706 dollars (including shipping and tax).

^^ LOL Google.... Nice way to say Happy Halloween....

Even more reasons to buy 2 Oneplus one s now :D

^^ I don't think one could compare Nexus 6 with any phone right now, rest aside OnePlus.
Its pricey but its a flagship phone and Google would have made sure that the problems with Nexus 5 are not encountered here.

^^ With motorola camera?? I am not sure.

Of all the moto handsets Ive used, camera is something that was consistently way below the competition.

Damn it. Nexus 6 reviews are disappointing.

Slower than an N5. What the actual **** Google / Motorola? I really really hope it's a software issue, but Ars says it's due to a slow NAND.

its not. Its due to default setting of encryption being on always. If it is enabled in nexus 5 it also becomes slow.

Yes, but you cannot turn off encryption on a Nexus 6 or Nexus 9.[DOUBLEPOST=1416214940][/DOUBLEPOST]
Encryption is on on my nexus 4 for almost a year and its full of games and apps but never exp any lag or just slow speeds....
I dont think its only encryption. It could be L or it could be ART also.... or maybe just some H/W issue.

Nothing wrong with Lollipop or ART. The Nexus 5 flies with it. It's either a slow NAND or encryption... or both.
