Right after the launch of the Nexus 7 tablet on Google Play Store India, marking the first official release of a Nexus product in India, Google introduces their Movies service to Play Store India. This new addition comes barely a week after the introduction of Books on the Play Store for Indian users. It seems that Google is finally realising the potential of the Indian market and acknowledging the same by treating us with all their premium services.
Google Play Movies now available in India

Google Play Movies service in India adds to a growing list of countries (US, UK, Australia, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Japan, Korea, Mexico, Russia, and Spain) which are lucky enough to have this Google service.

Movies have different pricings for rent and buying, and for SD (Standard Definition) and HD (High Definition) releases. Following is a valid price scheme:
  • Rs. 490 for buying a HD movie
  • Rs. 190 for buying an SD movie
  • Rs. 80 / 120 for renting movies

The prices seem fairly reasonable. HD version for Rs. 490 definitely sounds good to us.

We are hoping that these new introductions finally lead to Google releasing their Nexus 4 smartphone in Play Store India.
