At long last, Google has finally started selling it's Nexus 7 tablet officially in India (about time?). This excellent 7 inch tablet is now available for purchase the same way as other Google products are (usually), via Google Play Store. The Nexus 7 is an old tablet now, going to complete a year in a few months. But considering it's still an excellent tablet with great features, and most importantly a Google product, it still holds that much value.

The Nexus 7 is a brilliant tablet. 8 months after it's launch and it still stands as one of the most powerful yet affordable (Android) tablets that money can buy. Packing a powerful nVidia Tegra 3 quad core chip, the 7 inch HD display together with 1 GB of RAM and Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean (will be updated to newer Android versions such as 5.0 immediately by Google) give a complete experience.

ASUS Nexus 7 Specifications

  • nVidia Tegra 3 chipset
  • 1.2 GHz quad core ARM Cortex A9
  • GeForce ULP GPU
  • 1 GB of RAM
  • 7" HD (1280 x 800) LED-backlit IPS LCD, 216 ppi
  • 1.2 MP HD (720p) video calling camera
  • 16 GB of internal storage
  • 10.5 mm thick, 340 grams weight
  • 4,325 mAh Li-Ion battery
  • Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean

The 16 GB of internal storage (12 GB user accessible) is rather limiting. We wish a memory card slot were present. Even then, 16 GB is better than a puny 8 GB (older model).
