Google to buy Valve ???

WELL PLACED SOURCES tell us that Google is going to be buying Valve any second now. If you have to stop and think about why, you probably are not aware of Steam, Valve's amazing content distribution platform.

Google Portal may be a nice idea, but that is irrelevant. Google Content Distribution (Beta) however should make just about every other competitor lose several years of sleep, most of their remaining hair, and large gobs of stock price.

Valve has the best content distribution platform out there, bar none. Steam may have had rough patches here and there, but they are almost all ironed out now, and just about everyone that matters has signed up to use it.

When Google picks them up, it will be a clean kill, no one else will matter. It is a good buy for them, a good thing for Valve, and in general, good for everyone except MS. Then again, they are irrelevant now, so who cares?

Although i hope for it to happen, Google owned steam would be a killer store!! Also hoping they could reduce the prices by financing a bit from the ads ;)

But Google taking over such a big Game developer! Would be like a completely different sector for them.

Electronic arts (the biggest game company): 13.88 B

Google : 137.64 B

AMD : 3.17 B

Nvidia: 5.35 B

Google is like 10 times bigger then EA....

And lol AMD and Nvidia have shrunked so much....

If I see a search bar or google ads in single player mode, I am going to blow google just like how arnold schwarzengger did in skynet in terminator 2.

The Sims could incorporate ads in the game. Will only add to the realism of the game ;)
All the time you spend watching tv and refreshing your sims character can be spend watching all the latest advertisements ...

Wouldn't have made much of a sense for google to jump into the game distribution business, they still have a lot of online services to master still..
