Through KMD for 3.6k, which is tbh a bit of a stretch of my pocket for earphones. The reason I opted for them was to replace my zune earphones which got broken last month.

The package is a bit skimpy with a generic user manual that has no mention of the model and more importantly missing a couple of sizes of buds(only 4 sizes in total). They do have one foam bud which brings out the bass but also ends up suppressing some of the mids. I ended up using the ones from the ep-630s as the ones coming with the package didn't fit my ears too well.

The bass easily lives up to the hype it has gotten on sites like head-fi, especially with the foam buds. However, as mentioned the mids get suppressed and so the foam buds are best suited for stuff like Infected Mushroom/Trentemoller(trance/hip-hop). I could make out details like the keyboards even in a track like Jugni from the Oye Lucky OST which I hadn't even noticed on my MX5021s. Since I can't be bothered with swapping buds, especially while traveling, I think I'd be doing most of my listening using the rubber buds.

As such, it sounds far better than anything else I've got(ep-630, zune premium, shp-805s). I end up turning up the volume to better enjoy the minute details but then end up hurting my ears when something really loud comes up. The bass is so good that it almost sounds like its coming from a subwoofer. For general music listening these are great with the rubber buds, with the vocals sounding truly amazing.

Been running them practically non-stop for the past 30hrs, but I was quite impressed with the sound even out of the box. However, they become a bit painful while listening to the hi's at higher volumes and for longer durations but maybe that will improve with the burning in.

As such, these are definitely worth the price :hap2: ,even though I have no way of judging them relative to their proper contenders like the RE2 or even the Soundmagic IEMs that seem so popular here. And its pretty ridiculous comparing them to the ep-630s which I have considering that these cost me about 5 times as much :P

P.S: These also made me realize the difference the buds make in the sound. I'm looking forward to a GO for affordable but quality buds in the range of the Complys T400s which seem a bit too expensive for what they are.

nice review.. :) looks like a good IEM.

if possible do write about the Sound quality, signature in detail ..after the burn-in.

lately even my thirst for better SQ seems to be never ending :P.

got the Soundmagic PL-30, after getting bored with 2 EP-630's .then used a PL-30 +Fiio E3 for hardly 2-3 weeks ..

Right now waiting for the delivery of my next upgrade to audio nirvana ..should be here anytime.:D.

^^ what's that going to be?

The sound isolation with foam buds is much better than what I used to have with the ordinary ones and I am pretty much using them all the time.

I am not enough of an audio enthusiast to know what the sound signature is supposed to mean. Overall, the hi's have been sort of toned down now and listening to all kinds of music is a blast. However, the sound feels very positional(and stereo effects come out very clearly) and the different instruments/effects can be made out well, compared to that of a headphone(i.e, my shp-805s). They also stick out of the ears making them look very conspicuous though.

Since there seem to be a lot of people who like the bass here, I think I should add that the bass on this compared to the ep-630 is sort of like comparing the creative inspire 2.1s to the mx-5021's.

^^ You have summed up the SQ pretty well. When you say the sound feels very positional, it means the soundstage and detail of these earphones are very good. When you say the high notes were causing you pain, it means the highs are very sharp and thankfully they seem to have become less sharp since you say they no longer cause you any fatigue.

All in all it seems to be a good review. :)

yes really nice review and the earphones also look like a good buy..but only the price seems to be a bit high. :P

any idea how to they compare with the Bijou's and RE 2 ?

just read some reviews on Head fi and the NE-7m are supposed to be one of the best mid-range earphones. :P

one of the writeup says it's almost equivalent to a RE 2 + Fiio E5. :O . only the RE2 having bit more detail.

so i guess even for 3.6k this is one real good deal ..congrats !

^^ They are not really same. The Nuforce are a bassy earphone and not as detailed as the RE2. The RE2 are a bit bass light but have tremendous detail. So they have rather different sonic signature. It depends on your taste of music.

How much did you end up spending on the RE 2 ??

~ 2.6 k ..still waiting for delivery ..

according to EMS tracking,it was handed over to Mumbai customs on 11th April ..after which there's no update..

just hope i receive them soon.

Incase i find the RE 2 very light on bass for electronic music ..i might get a Fiio E5 for 850 bucks.

maybe we can have a GO if 5+ members are interested.

yeah that's what even i thought ..GO wont be worth it .due to customs issues and individual shipping costs. I am better of getting it individually. :P

or else i might just buy your E3 cause as of now i am short on funds..Lol.

by the way stalker, did you test your E5 ? any improvement over E3 ?..if possible please post a short review of it after youv'e used them.

From the reviews, I feel the RE2+E5 combo would have suited my tastes even better but the thought of adding an amp to the already bulky zune was out of the question.

Just tried putting the buds on the wrong way; the fit is a lot better and makes them sound distinctly better :D
