My Budget: Max i can spend is 47 thousand rupees inclusive of all tax n all

Primary Usage : web surfing and watchin movies , listenin songs (obviously thru external speaker) and office work !
size and weight : wont be taking it outside the house much.
so minimum i need is a good 15incher display or if possible a 17incher !
Brand prefferred: although i fall in for Hp`s and dell... but with a low budget like these i want to get the best out of it... so whatever u suggest will be my preference!
widescreen will do the Job... as well even if it doesnt looks that goood , atleast it shud look sober.
My AUNT is going to use it !

space i can go for anythin between 100 gb to 160 gb....

plz reply sooon.. i got very less time.

got to support the aunt... or she might buy a piece of crap ! u know !! :@
 
Thing is, in that kind of budget, to get screen size and a good config is not possible.. Have a look at the Dell Vostro 1500 though.. The basic one (C2D T5470, 1GB RAM,120GB hdd with free dos) just about fits in your budget.
 
Dell is out of question, coz i dont think you could get a dell in less than 24 hours. It takes about a week or two, normally.

Ur options are limited to HP/Compaq/Lenovo/Acer and the like i guess. As suggested above, stick to C2D (T7xxx processor preferred, but stick to T5xxx atleast), min 1GB RAM, 120GB HDD, DVD RW, W-LAN, Bluetooth, Webcam (if necessary) & Carry Case. Since you are very specific about the screen size, ur choices are much narrowed. Best bet is to visit a showroom and decide.
 
Hmmm..Compaq/Hp has a 17" model with AMD dual core for like 50-52 k or less i think. Check with any laptop showroom for exact model Since ur usage is basic stuff. This shoul be sufficient.Cos my cousin picked up a similar unit last month and hes pretty happy with it :)
 
i can wait for the laptop to reach myself for a week... only issues is that i have to order or purchase it by tomorrow or max till tuesday !

so plz guys help me out !!

not in the 17" range in India :ohyeah: spend like around 10k more and u might find a similar Dell i guess. 56k for a 17" C2D :D inspiron 1720 but i dont think u have that much time :)
