One can send inputs to nep.edu@gov.in. Last date is July 31st. Although I'm skeptical if they will go through each and every mail. I hope they do.

My recommendations would be
  • Curb rote learning . Knowledge application (via demos , assignments) should be highly promoted.
  • Promote Civic sense, Road Safety and Sex education
  • Children should be encouraged for creative thinking
  • Maximum class strength to be defined
  • Mandatory provision for school lockers

What would you suggest?

strict norms for teacher recruitment. Prespective teachers should undergo extensive assessments for thier teaching abilities.

Counsellor/psychiatrist in every school. Feels like I've heard news about dozen different suicides in last month.

1. Teachers basic salary should be equal or more than class 2 officers even in private institutions, They're paid peanuts

2. No compulsory classroom teaching after 12th std. More innovative teaching methods like practical application, hands on training.

3. All teaching materials to be made available online. Credit hours and assessment instead of attendance

4. More exhaustive and practical assessment based on actual learning and knowledge application skills instead of rota based learning and memory aided reproduction skills

5. Objective type of exams instead of paragraph writing whenever possible

6. Teaching practical skills like cooking, civic sense instead of rota based learning

7. Participation in Any one sport and one art skills to be made compulsory

8. Teaching their Junior students to be included in the part of curriculum

9. Management, leadership and interpersonal skills to be included in the curriculum

10. Self defence, exercising right , eating right, personal hygiene, basic first aid skills, basic resuscitation to be taught as part of curriculum.

They should start with filling up vacant teachers' posts. A large number of rural schools are run by just a handful of teachers.
