I have one question with GPS.. Do GPS need internet connection or GPRS on Mobile, if i have downloaded maps in n82 or n95??
Or it works offline?
Little bit confusing me

AFAIK there are map packs for the default GPS app. You load them to the memory card and the phone reads off theese. For mobile gmaps etc, you need an internet connection (though there are ways to cache them offline)

GPS has nothing to do with internet. It works through dedicated satillites. Your GPS handset will receiving signals directly from the satillites and will show your the position on earth, Maps are superimposed on this positions so that laymen like us can read it.

Only Place you may need internet is to dowload the recent maps for a particular place

if u have downloaded the maps pakage from the nokia maps applacation on the pc n then loaded it on ur phone then u dont need internet on the phone..... but for some services like finding the nearby acommodation, food etc etc it sometimes needs the intrnet connection.......

GPS gives you coordinates. The lattitude and the longitude position from the geo-stationary satellites.

Maps put these coordinates into suitable position
