Hi,

I will be purchasing an equipment worth 80K (Power Tiller). It will at a farm that has very limited security. The chances of theft and misuse is high. I was wondering if there is any way of tracking the location of the equipment. Geo fencing alerts would be an added advantage.

The key features I am looking for are:
1. It should be small in size. So small, that it should be hardly noticeable by the workers.
2. It should run on Battery at least for 6 months.
3. Should notify low battery with an SMS alert.

Thanks,
Srikanth

You can get 12v 7AH for 750 in battery outlets. Same as in the pic you linked. It's the same battery you put in a UPS. Problem is how will you charge it? If you know what load the gps unit takes you can find the expected time of backup.

Why don't you use a professional service like safekar.in? I have no personal experience with these, but I'm sure you'll save a lot of headache. The initial investment looks high with safekar, so do compare with other similar services before deciding on one.

The problem is, this is for a farm equipment (Power Weeder) which does not have a OBD port.
