hi!

i wanted to know if i could enable gpu acceleration in Windows 7 media center. currently the cpu utilization is 37-40% while viewing a 1080p blu-ray movie(black hawk down).

my laptop gpu nvidia 8200m supports cuda and gpu acceleration. using k-lite mega codec pack ,the cpu utilization is roughly around 15-19% while viewing a 1080p blu-ray movie(black hawk down)

i prefer using Windows 7 Media Center for all my movie viewing---will i be able to make use of gpu acceleration in Windows 7 Media center?

if YES , how?

if i chose to use gpu acceleration for video playback, would it improve my battery life or decrease it?

thanks in advance.

I use XBMC on my Windows 7 laptop(Dell Studio 1555 with Ati 4570 512MB) and when I try to play 1080p content using VLC, there is lot of jitter but in XBMC it works fine and there is no significant decrease in battery life either. I have a 9-cell battery and it gives me 4.5Hrs of backup under load.
