Recently I changed my PC case from an ATX form factor to an mATX form factor. Now I have the system on my desk. Along with the case I bought a few Arctic P12s for the case, They are the PWM kind and I wanted to use Fan Control to set-up a fan curve based on the GPU load. Fan Control has an automated setup where it calibrates the fans. I couldn't help but notice how loud the stock fans of my GPU got at reasonable load or when they hit 100% fan speed. So I decided to do a little de-shroud mod for my GPU. Here are the results. You can hardly hear the fans at idle. They are super quite even at 50-70% fan speed. The temperatures have improved slightly but the acoustics have improved massively. I think I'd perform a minor undervolt to keep the temps cooler. If you've done a de-shroud mod before, share pictures!
