which motherboard is powering your rig??

just asking coz M/B now a days either support Xfire or SLI or Both in some cases.

if it supports Xfire then go for Sapphire HD 4870.

if it supports SLI then go for Palit GTX 260 216SP Sonic @ 10.5k

if it supports either Xfire or SLI then go for Sapphire HD 4870

if it doesn't supports any of the multi GPU config then go for Sapphire HD 4870

+1 for 4870 1GB, Will give better over performance over 512MB in games like GTA 4, Farcry2...

Am havin biostar ta785ge128m..am lukin forword to get a saphire 4870.1gb...anybody know d latest price of d gpu? Which is d cheapest brand i can get!

Looking at the PhysX Batman AA demo , im kind of regretting the decision to buy an ATi.

However right now is the only one game which is worthy to make people who want to experience everything in gaming regret their decision, in the future there maybe more such games.

So you could consider that before buying an excellent VFM 4870.

consider palit GTX260 sonic it max out @ high settings on crysis @ 1080p
What a GTX260 can do, a 4870 can do the same with Batman being an exception. But its proven, the ATI one has better image quality overall on same quality setings, and i might say that is more beneficial to end-user than just 1~2 fps gain.
but seriously i doubt a GTX 260 can do Crysis @ maxedout 1080p with 2/4X AA. Then what wud be the need for cards higher than that ?

Am a fanboy...ati only....:)..

lol :ohyeah:

Get the 512 MB version, that would be enough because most of the games do not benefit from more than 512 at HD resolution. If you can really shell out 1.5K extra, then you can get the 1 GB version.

GTX260 would not be able to play Crysis at full HD neither at high nor very high. :cool2:

For full HD, a 4870 should be more than sufficient. U can also go for the toxic editions of 4850 with GDDR5 which is very very good.

Anything more than this would be a overkill unless u want to use 8xAA and 16xAF in every game u play :P

Nvidia's PhysX is of no use in real time playing experience. So, its just a gimmick. However, CUDA is something which is far ahead of ATI Stream.
The biggest thing i like about Nvidia is CoreAVC supports CUDA and its so easy to play HD in Media Center unlike with ATI where i have to do so many tweaks to get it done.
So, if only gaming at full HD is ur priority, then u can go for ATI, else its the green band to go for. :)
