Graphic Cards GPU Upgrade.. Advice

I really need to upgrade my gpu from the 9600gt. was waiting for the 7 series but delayed again:mad:
Resolution i will be using is 1920x1080. Will buy a new monitor in coming month.. asus pa239q/ Dell u2312hm

Uses: Video and image editing mainly and also Gaming(Battlefield 3 and MW3)
Budget: as less as possible.. less than 15k..(PSU is a corsair TX 650..so dont worry)

Help is appreciated..

Will not upgrade for another two years minimum so keep that in mind:)
 
For full hd resolution gaming i would suggest MSI HD 6950 Twin Frozr III 2 GB-15.5k,it would've been better if you would wait but as hd7xxx series has been delayed this is a good option within your budget.
 
Mate i have a budget of 40k for GPU and i am waiting why can't you? It's better if you wait otherwise thegatekeeper's suggestion is the way to go. :)
 
the problem is dude the 7 series will be released in q1 2012 that is anytime before march. due to a shortage of the 28nm chips, amd will jack up the prices.. so any card equivalent to the 6950 and 6970 will be priced 20k or above. another 6 months later prices may decrease to present levels.. so atleast a years wait ahead to buy:)
 
Altair and Mrcool both of you get a 6950 twin frozr/hawk edition each from one store... you will get discount and will be able to play happily even after 7XXX series comes out...
 
i could not find any difference between the 1gb and 2gb in terms of performance.. so should i go for 2gb or 1gb.. if i can save money i can invest in other upgrades:)

also found a 2gb 560Ti for 16.3k.. better than 6950?
 
Man i'm waiting..no matter what...it's decided. Plus i just Bought a DellXCD35 for 7.5k so budget's reduced to 32k...But you,So interested in buying a GPU then go for what Chirag suggested it's the best. And go for 2GB version cause it unlocks to HD6970. Correct me if i'm wrong but 1GB doesn't. Best of luck. :)

Yes you are right.. 1gb variant doesnt unlock... whereas the 2gb ones do... Not all... but many

The hd7xxx series is getting on nerves of everyone,release delay is giving headaches

I can see he is keeping it cool,way to go man,can't believe how you are keeping your hands tied,hope you will get better reward in terms of the new released card for your patience.
 
Isn't Msi 6850 Cyclone PE do gaming @HD smoothly?
Why 10k card is not enough for HD gaming ??????? 10k is very serious amount ( at least for me ) !
 
Yes it is.. 10K is serious for me too... But we have to bring down the AA settings on full HD with 6850 for a smooth gaming experience. 6950 and above cards guarantee true eye candy with more FPS without compromising on details

Do yoga everyday...you'll be calm very calm. Also,i dropped a year for IIT,AIEEE etc...how much calm do you think one can be...GPU is nothing-ji-nothing..:bleh:

Thanks for this mate. But seriously believe me man when you are 18 and you have an amount of 32k in your hand its really fcuking hard not to spend a single penny on something :bounce: and specially when there is not a single rupee that you have earned. :bleh: Hell..even i don't know how am i being so much calm. haha ;)

Man you have to keep it cool as you/me/everyone even an owner of 6990 would want to upgrade to 7xxx card when they release...one might say no i will not but i can guarantee that 95% of them will definitely upgrade whether 6770->7770 or like wise whatever....so i don't want to repent if i take this decision now and further when southern islands are out i start to think man should have waited and bought these,so you can see ya? :cool2:
Plus how much difference does it makes? It's not that after the release of 7 series they'll stop making 6 series...if i find that southern are very costly as compared to their performance..i'll go with the northern's...Ain't this right? Keeping it simple. :D

P.S- This is my first Post in which i had to bang my fingers on the keyboard so much just to express my views..hehe. ;) :p

How important is AA !?
Can i5 2400 + 6850 play these @HD with 0 AA;
gta 4
COD series
Mafia2
Nfs
Just cause series
BF
Crysis series ?????
