Graphic Cards GPU Upgrade.. Advice

you can play at high setting with aa off maybe at very high setting in some games,but for very high and aa you will need like hd6950.
 
Some amount of AA is definitely recommended. At least 2x-4x is quite optimal. Anything above that depends on the game engine and how effective it is.

As for the waiting game for the 7xxx series, rumors are it is postponed to Q1 2011. So, lets say it does release around Jan-Feb.. by the time it reaches the Indian markets, it'll be Feb-March. And if you're waiting for a price drop, add another month to it. So we are looking at 5-6 months easy. Unless you already have a GPU that can play games at acceptable frame rates i,e 30fps, I don't see any reason to wait. Not with the handful of games about to release in quick succession.

AC Revelations.... and these are just the games that are releasing before December.

Get a 560 Ti TF II or 560 Ti Hawk. 13k and 13.7k respectively. :)

If you're definitely planning to buy then first, just don't think much man...okay.! and Second, Go for 6950 2GB whether Normal one,Twin Frozer etc etc. That's your call. :)
 
^ It is. I've spoken to somebody who had played BF3 Alpha with a 6870. While he did tell me that the game was more than playable with that card, he advised me to purchase either a 560 Ti or a 6950.

My first preference was a 6870 actually. But then again, I chose that card because I had plans of crossfiring it in the future as dual 6870s > dual 560 Ti's. But now that I've decided on getting a 56O Ti, I may never add another card if this one card is sufficient to play BF3 at 60fps high. Judging by the recommended specs released by the company, this card should achieve that.

p.s : BF3 is better optimized on nVidia. I'm basing this on the recommended specs released by the company.
 
stretch a little budget and get gtx560ti-13.5k,i don't think 6870 will suffice on very high settings,go for gtx560ti or hd 69502gb for the eyecandy
 
I have droped 6850. Will save paper & coins to put my hands on 560ti. Am building the PC for Mafia2.

Offtopic : 10k amount becomes so cheap for tech gadgets.

you have 6850. Its helpful to buddies like me if u post some gaming experiences @ HD if u have any. Like fps eycandy etc.
 
I use a 6850 at 850mhz. I have tried it on my friends 22" Full HD monitor... In games like Metro 2033, Stalker I had to put AA to zero and make some settings medium or high.FRAPS indicated frame rates dancing between 30 to 35 I guess for these games. But 6850 definitely guarantees eyecandy. Game likes Crysis 2,bulletstorm, Deus EX can be maxed out easily FPS vary between 40 to 55. Battlefield BC2 was tried and it worked with max details too at almost 50 FPS on Avg. Old crysis and crysis warhead too work extremely well on max details, but sometimes during explosions it seems to drop Frames below 30. Dead space 2 was locked at 35FPS maxed out, no problems whatsoever. Games like Dirt3 and NFS hp max out too with 45 to 50 FPS on avg. Note : I use VSYNC in games that have this option listed to avoid tearing.

But I predict that those new games will give my 6850 a tough time. Who cares if play at 1600x900 ;) Well and the above frames rates are on my friends 22inch monitor, not mine.

I did play Mafia 2 at 1600x900... Didnt check the frames rates though,but neither did I find any stuttering or lag while playing.It was smooth.

Personally I dont like to play GTA, havent played any of its versions except vice city. So no reviews from my side about GTA4 :) But I have heard thats a resource hungry game.

If you have money then get a 22"+560ti (Better gather money and put your hands on this :) )

If not then 20" with a 6850 is good enough.

guys does gaming @ HD or gaming @ 1600 900 make any difference?
As i cant play upcoming games @ full galory on 22'' + 6850 then i will have to lower the reso' ? So why go for 22'' Thats what i wana ask ??' .
The ***** making games so heavy just to sell the costly GPUs. They make the 10k GPU ****** Crap!
 
^^ wait till you see BF3.. The problem is that games are becoming better graphically.. i think we will reach a time when system memory and vram would become equal:)
