Graphic Cards GPU Upgrade - Is This Okay

I currently have a P4 2.4GHZ
865GBF MOBO
512 MB RAM 266 MHZ
40 GB HDD
GF 4 440MX CARD

I m planning to upgrade my gpu to A 6600gt from XFX(Probably). And also, my hdd.

Comments on the above . Will the Card Lag On my machine. :huh:

Hmmm...frm my experience...had gone frm a gforce 2 mx 400 to 9800pro ..got a huge improvement on graphics on a 2000+ xp(1.67ghz)

well the cpu will be the bottleneck but there will be a huge performance increase

Go for 8X card.
In my experience, western digital and maxtor HDD are faster than others.
BTW, How about updating ram to 1 gb

Well for starters :
1. 6600Gt will make a huge impact.
2. Get 512 mb DDR 400 memory.

2.4ghz, asus p4s533, 512DDR, 9800pro

I'd suggest that you get more ram and thats about it !

I think tht 6600Gt draws huge dollops of power but 865GBF shud handle it without any problems...also is ur P4 2.4 a 'c' version?? i mean is it 800fsb version or the 533 fsb version? If its 2.4C,get a 512 mb DDR400(better get 512x2,and setup dual channel memory)..then it shud perform like a breeze!!
